Well, last week I got my final reply from The Better Business Bureau of PA (whom I contacted and asked for their help) in regards to a lady that is keeping (stole) all of the items that I made and mailed to her to sell in her new Lancaster, PA shop she opened in a mall there last Fall. She orig. contacted me through Etsy saying she loved my creative fairy-related items and wanted some to sell in her new shop.

The bureau contacted her several times, and she replied to them with more lies and copies of altered e-mails that she'd send me in the past (with cussing and non-professional behavior) and that she would be sending my merchandise back to me when she could find a minute to herself being she had been dealing with her sick mother - so she says.

It's been 6 months now so she isn't going to send it back to me! She's just going to keep it and make money for herself and also keep the money I sent her upon her request last November to send it all back to me when I decided to pull out of the "deal" (no contract was involved) 'cause she said nothing had sold. I was hoping to re-list it in one of my Etsy shops to try and sell it all for Christmas so I could make money.

A hard life lesson learned...Close to $180.00 in merchandise lost plus $20.00 a month for 3 months for a rental spot in her shop.

a little at a time.

Last week on Oprah she had a show about doing things in an earth-friendly manner.

I've decided to stop using paper napkins and tonight bought 4 sets of 2 cloth napkins at one of our dollar stores.

Last week I bought 4 of Wal-Mart's black reuse-able shopping bags, and I LOVE them. I've always hated those plastic bags 'cause they can rip so easily and they give you SO many of them when they bag your groc. I plan on buying some from Target and maybe Pier One too.

Tonight I went to Wal-Mart and took my bags and only used 3 of them for all of my groc. It was heaven loading the car and also only bringing the 3 in the house instead of gobs of plastic ones.

I'm also going to use plastic containers to pack hubby's lunch instead of using plastic sandwich bags for everything.

I would think that Tupperware will/could make a great comeback because of Al Gore. :oP

I started a blog at blogger.com recently, and I might be posting there from now on, but will keep this journal 'cause I love all of the communities.

It just isn't St. Patrick's Day without corned beef and cabbage.

Recently, I visited a really cool Etsy store (http://www.Boojiboo.com) and bought a couple of their aprons. They use their own patterns, super cute fabric and the workmanship is just impeccable. I bought a full apron for a gift and went back later and bought a half apron for myself.

While wandering through their shop, I remembered that I'd bought fabric 20 or so years ago to make myself an apron and never did. I know... :o) Back then, I was really into ducks, not so much so anymore, but I decided to get a pattern and make it up anyway. So, I rummaged through my fabric statsh and bought Easy stitch 'n save pattern M5505 by McCall's. I revised it a bit though. I completely finished the ruffle so that there would be no raw edges and stitched it on TOP of the apron instead of making a seam. Now the wrong side of the apron has no raw edges showing except where I stitched together the 3 ruffle pieces with small seams.

I'm quite pleased how it came out even though the red stripe fabric I used isn't quite the same shade as the red in the duck print. To downplay that, I used black rick rack instead of the red that really matched the red in the fabric perfectly, and now you hardly notice. At night when I was cutting it out and decided to use a different fabric for the pocket and ruffle it looked like a match. And then the next day, I remembered my mom always checking colors in natural sunlight and saw why that was so important.

This apron is for me, I'm not putting this one up for sale. :o)

We went from 63 degrees and a sunny day yesterday with a huge meltdown of our piled-up snow to rain, sleet, ice, and snow (4 inches) last night between 9:00 pm and midnight, and now today we also have sun, but it's 19 degrees.

I had to drive in it last night to go pick hubby up from work and it was dicey. I almost got stuck once and was driving under 30 miles an hour all the way there in a 55 miles per hour zone. It was crazy...The snow plows were waiting until it all ended at midnight to get out.

Can you say global warming! Hubby said if we ever win the lottery (fat chance...lol) we're moving to somewhere that's warm all year long. I absolutely HATE the mess that's left when the snow and ice start melting. And, I'm starting to hate starting over every Spring planting and adjusting to a warm life style only to have to pack it all away again for the coming Winter.
